b) Detection and manipulation of charge density waves;

c) Thermal transport at the nanoscale.

EUV / X-ray nonlinear spectroscopy in (bio-) chemistry (BIO-CHEM)

The following examples are identified to be highly interesting in the (bio-) chemistry working group and will be pursued in a concerted effort on relevant sample systems:

a) Accessing optically-dark states in transition metal compounds (molecular complexes or oxides) via stimulated RIXS;

b) Investigate diffusion of photogenerated reactants at short range using hard X-ray to EUV to X-ray TG spectroscopies;

c) Implement Optical/EUV to X-ray frequency mixing methods to investigate molecular chirality in bulk liquids;

d) Implement stimulated X-ray emission as a tool to investigate the bond structure within molecules.
