To mark International Women’s Day, NEXT is pleased to present a booklet featuring 15 interviews with women working across the research and innovation ecosystem. From early-career researchers to senior professors, and from academia to roles bridging science with industry, user facilities, and research management, these conversations highlight the many paths that scientific careers can take.

The interviews offer personal reflections on motivations, challenges, and opportunities, as well as insights into the skills and mindsets that support scientific careers at different stages. They also illustrate the diverse ways in which women contribute to advancing knowledge, building collaborations, and shaping the research landscape in Europe.

Together, these voices provide an honest and inspiring snapshot of today’s scientific community and the importance of visibility, connection, and support in strengthening women’s leadership in science.
