The workshop is intended to bring together leading scientists in the field of non-linear X-ray techniques using free-electron lasers. The discussions are supposed to center around how such novel techniques can be brought to impactful scientific applications and are sorted into four methodological sessions
Also this year the “School on new Computational Methods for attosecond molecular processes” will be held in Zaragoza (Spain) in June 1-5, 2026. Main aim of the school is to introduce new methods, with increasing level of complexity, for ab-initio and hybrid time-dependent systems, and advanced methods that can cope with the electronic continuum of molecules…
To mark International Women’s Day, NEXT is pleased to present a booklet featuring 15 interviews with women working across the research and innovation ecosystem. From early-career researchers to senior professors, and from academia to roles bridging science with industry, user facilities, and research management, these conversations highlight the many paths that scientific careers can take.
The X-Lites Incubator brought together researchers and facility experts for an intensive two-day workshop focused on building agile, action-oriented collaborations around extreme light science. Using the Strategic Doing framework developed at Purdue University, participants rapidly converged on concrete ideas and near-term research pathways. A key outcome of the incubator was the strengthening of international network connections.

WavemiX 2026 is the annual international workshop on ultrafast EUV/X-ray science and the NEXT (COST Action CA22148) Annual Meeting. The 2026 edition will gather experimental and theoretical researchers working on- and with – free‑electron lasers (FELs) and high‑harmonic generation (HHG) sources to discuss the latest advances in non‑linear spectroscopies, attosecond physics, and ultrafast imaging.
