COST/ZCAM School on New Computational Methods for Attosecond Molecular Processes 2026

The “New Computational Methods for Attosecond Molecular Processes” will be held in Zaragoza (Spain) in June 1-5, 2026. The school is co-organised by the COST Action CA22148 “NEXT. Main aim of the school is to introduce new methods, with increasing level of complexity, for ab-initio and hybrid time-dependent systems, and advanced methods that can cope with the electronic continuum of molecules.

Registration for this event is free. Due to space limitations, the number of accepted attendants is limited, so reserve your place as soon as possible. Registration deadline: April 1, 2026. You will receive confirmation of acceptance/non-acceptance for attendance within the next week after registration closes.

The purpose of this school is to introduce state-of-the-art ab-initio and hybrid numerical methods that can cope with ultra-fast dynamics in the electronic continuum of molecules, with an emphasis on unbound states in strong and weak fields, and on the need to go beyond single-active-electron models to properly account for electron correlation.

The school will be organized in 5 theoretical sessions and 5 practical sessions in the computer lab.

The speakers participating in this training will be: Stefanos Carlstrom (Max Born Institute -MBI, Berlin), Jesús González-Vázquez (Autonomous University of Madrid-UAM), Jimena Gorfinkiel (Open University, UK), Mikhail Ivanov (MBI, Berlin), Fernando Martín (UAM), Zdenek Masin (Cuni, CZ), Felipe Morales (MBI, Berlin), Serguei Patchkovskii (MBI, Berlin), Laura Rego (ICMM, Madrid),  Armin Scrinzi (Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich), and Olga Smirnova (MBI, Berlin).

The detailed program can be found in HERE.

Organizers:

Fernando Martín (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid)

Laura Rego (ICMM-CSIC)

Cristian Svetina (IMDEA Nanociencia)

Caterina Vozzi (Consiglio Nazionale Delle Ricerche)

Giulia Fulvia Mancini (EPFL)

This school is co-organised by NEXT- C.A., supported by COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology). Our Actions help connect research initiatives across Europe and enable scientists to grow their ideas by sharing them with their peers. This boosts their research, career and innovation. https://www.cost.eu/. COST is supported by the European Union.
