Short Term Scientific Missions (STSM)

Mobility Grants aimed at promoting individual mobility, strengthening NEXT networks, and fostering collaboration between students, PhD students, residents, and young researchers pursuing the objectives of the COST Action 22148.
Who can apply?
Anyone is entitled to submit an application, but we particularly encourage applications from PhD students, residents, and young researchers, and applicants both from within and outside the NEXT Consortium, that explore and explain how their participation can contribute to the COST Action 22148 objectives.
Priority will be given to applications from not-established researchers and who have not received another STSM grant in the previous year.
It is worth remembering that the STSM grant is a financial contribution paid directly to the applicant and does not have to cover the full cost of the mission.
In case of success, remember to acknowledge the support received from the COST Action in all publications and outreach activities (posters, talks. etc) related to the research carried out with the support of the STSM grant. There is no pre-defined wording, but it must include the name of the network (NEXT) and of the funding Agency (COST) and the Action number (CA22148).

What kind of expenses are covered by STSM funding?
During this Grant Period this financial contribution for each STSM grant must respect the following criteria:
Self-Calculation
The STSM applicants have to calculate the cost of the visit by themselves.
Maximum Award
1,000 eur per week up to a maximum of 4000 euros per grant.
Daily Amount
Daily amount depends on the country.
Documents to submit
- STSM grant Application (based on e-COST template, see below);
- Confirmation of the host on the agreement from the host institution in receiving the applicant
At the end of the STSM a report has to be submitted!
